Ansel Adams

Before attending Mrs. Kate M Wilkins Private School where Ansel Adams got a diploma equivalent to eighth grade education, he was home schooled by his father and aunt. The other profession that Ansel Adams had before becoming a photographer was to be a professional musician he loved and was good at playing the piano. His first fully visualized photographed, monolith, the Face of Half Dome was created in 1927. Three interesting things that I learned about Ansel Adams was that at age four he broke his nose in the aftershock of the great earthquake and fire of 1906. When he was twelve Ansel Adams taught himself how to play the piano and read the music, this lead to him taking lessons which took the place of actually going to school. Playing the piano also gave him a sense a structure and discipline which where helpful since he may have suffered from dyslexia and may have been hyperactive. Besides being a photographer Ansel Adams was an environmentalist, and most of the pictures he took where symbols of wild America, in these pictures Adams managed to capture nature in a much more intense and pure form than any other photographer had before.

The reason why this picture captured my attention was the attracting color of the water, especially how it seems to ripple and makes small waves. At first it it only the water that catches your attention but as you look at the picture closely you begin to notice the riveting green of the moss on the rocks. The white as snow clouds in the back are a nice touch to this picture that is dominated by cool colors. I feel like this is one of those pictures that makes you yearn to be there with the photographer as he take sthis picture.

Jaws
Within the bustling halls of Newberg High School it looms. Green beady eyes, mouth set wide open in a frozen stance, he's ready to swallow his next innocent victim. If you have any common sense you will stay away from Jaws, but most high schoolers are too tempted by his contents. The appetizing Doritos, the mouthwatering fruit roll ups and the crunchy corn nuts are what Jaws uses to allure his prey. Once he knows that you are hungry, you might as well be eaten. His mouth attracts your fingers and the instant you get too close...BAM! He snatches your arm out in the open and you are left without food and an arm.
Not far form Jaws, his protective mother, Flora lies. She tries very hard to scold him, but Jaws has a hard time obeying her. When Jaws doesn't listen to his mom it makes her upset and when Flora is upset so is Mike. Mike is Jaws' dad, he is very serious and is usually calm. Mike only becomes upset when Jaws eats too many arms in a day. Jaws love his family, especially since he is the only child, which means that he has no siblings to argue with.
One of the things that Jaws doesn't like to do is his job. Although he is only 12 years old, he already has a job, because he's a machine. His job is to feed snacks to the kids of Newberg High, but as we can all see, he has a hard time doing this with out having a few arms. At first he was very nice and always gave the kids the snacks that they asked for. After a while, he became restless and decided to play a few jokes. His original was was to bite the kids' hands to scare them a little. This plan seemed okay at the time, until he accidentally bit a little too hard, and a kids' arm came off. From then on he makes taking kids' arms his favorite past time.
In the beginning kids were hesitant to come anywhere near Jaws, but one day, brave Johnny, decided that it was time to stop Jaws. That day Johnny as well as the other kids around him learned that Jaws' hidden talent was being funny. You see, what happened was that Johnny approached Jaws and demanded him to stop taking arms. Jaws was very calm and agreed, as long as Johnny would listen to his jokes. When Jaws told his first joke everyone started to laugh hysterically and they all laughed for a very, very long time.
